*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***

This is sadly one of my top 5 favorite paintings I've done from the Potter series so far. The only reason it's sad is it's only the second painting I did and few have lived up to this one for me. I try to hold it up as an example of what I'd like all my Potter paintings to be like... heck all my illustrations to be like. I'm happy with the original drawing, The dynamic nature while being a calm scene. I'm happy with the lighting and values, the tones and colors... seriously, I loved how this painting turned out. The only thing I'd "fix" if I could would be some of the glare in the glass - not the snake's reflection, but the "streaks" just don't seem very authentic. But those streaks are lost compared to how I fee about the rest of the piece. I hope you enjoy it too!
