*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not strong or confident when it comes to illustrating backgrounds. So I'm not entirely thrilled with the way this one turned out. That said, I knew if I was going to take doing these illustrations seriously... Harry Potter or anything... if I wanted to be a serious illustrator, I had to do more than just draw what I'm good at. I've seen too many artists just rely on their strength's and I feel like their portfolios end up looking like the same illustration over and over again - just a bunch of profile pictures with no backgrounds. And I didn't want my portfolio looking like that, so I gave it my best effort. It's not perfect, but it's passable. And hopefully I improve with each one.

As for the characters - I'm happy with them. I like the floating pudding, just beginning to fall. I like the way Harry turned out. Dobby... I liked the drawing better than the painting. Being in the background, some of his finer details get a little lost. But all that said, I'm happy with the piece as a whole.
