*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***

Starting fresh with the second book was so needed. While I was happy with the way everything ended in books 1, sometimes, not having that "pressure" of almost being done makes it easier to take time and do the art properly. And I was extremely happy with the way this one turned out. We get to see our lead character looking a little older and the background was researched and I'm very proud of the results. I like the way Dudley turned out too. And though it's on the smaller side, you can see Petunia working away setting the table for their company coming over that evening. All in all, a nice start.

Fun Fact: This piece is a direct companion to the Dobby vignette (also used on the Slipcase illustration) specifically noted by the lady bug crawling on the the leaf of the bush he's hiding in, moments later it's preparing to fly away - as seen in the vignette.
