Description
16 x 22Gouache paints with coloured pencil on watercolour paper
*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***
I have very mixed feelings about how this piece turned out. I like it in so many ways... I think it's very "accurate". I love how the lighting from the car looks and the night sky... it all looks right... I just get a little disappointed people will have a hard time seeing everything that's there, thanks to the "extreme" lighting.

Β I think the fact that the painting is so dark really emphasizes the effect of the light beaming on the trunk. It looks great!

Thank you so much! I didn't mean to imply it was bad or anything, just that some of the details I put in it, get a little "lost" thanks to the lighting. But I'm so glad you find the effect is properly emphasized

It really was - I hope to find the right place to pay homage to it in illustrations in one of the later books

Thank you - I'm glad you like it, because I struggle with it when I look at how this painting turned out. I hadn't given much thought to the windows in the castle... but I'm glad you enjoy the "authenticity" I tried to give them via different lighting

Itβs like the music score to a film. The good ones donβt get noticed.
