Description
16 x 22Gouache paints with coloured pencil on watercolour paper
*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***
There wasΒ a lot to fit into this painting, but I'm pretty happy with the way it all came together. I'm not completely happy with it mind you - I never am. But this is one of those cases where there's so much stuff, the issues I have areΒ canceled better, or at the very least distracted

There's so much to take in when I look at this painting! I haven't noticed one of the twins' 'Get him, Dad!' face until now. Man, I feel bad for whoever that caldron falls on!

This is definitely a "full" painting, that is for sure. I was a challenge to show everything I wanted to show, yet have focused on what needed focus. Fortunately, the store was supposed to be crowded, so that helped a lot!

Best scene in the books by far! I was so sad this didn't make it into the film, but oh well, there's great artwork like this to make up for it. xDD

I enjoy the movies for what they are... but missing scenes like this is one of the driving reasons I do these paintings - to show the scenes from the books properly... or at least my vision of them. But I try to be as faithful to the text as I can be, first and foremost.
Whatever the case, I appreciate the compliments on my art

I think they're amazing and always perk up when I see you've submitted something.
I too hope some day that I can develop my crochet skills enough that, one day, I can give the most beloved, and missed, character from the Harry Potter universe than never got any screen time his time to shine - Peeves.

Yeah, Peeves was missed in the movies. I heard they did film stuff with him in the first movie, but it was cut.

So sad, then again, I was also sad about the lack of Dobby in the other movies and how Winky was just completely deleted from Goblet of Fire.

I totally agree. Then again, I try to understand that the movies just can't be the books no matter how much I want them to be. So changes are going to happen and people and characters are going to get cut for any number of reasons. It's frustrating, but just the way it is.

Too true, as I understand a book doesn't really have a limit while movies do, and even though it can be infuriating, it is how it is. I guess I just wish when it came to what gets cut and what doesn't, that people would lean more towards interesting stuff, like Peeves, instead of filler. :/

Go Arthur!!!
(okay, I'm against violence in general... but gosh how I love to hate Lucius...)
really cool drawing love the angle, the action and how all the little details make us feel like we are inside the book

I'm the same - not really a violent person, and don't support violence... but in literary terms as part of a story, I feel it's all good to get into the moment and enjoy it for what it is
And thank you for your compliments on the artwork itself!!!

Hit him hard, Arthur!Β I really like how you drew Hermione's parents.Β In fact, you are the only artist whom I know who has included them in this scene!

Thanks! The fact that most people forget to include Hermione's parents this scene is one of the biggest reasons I do these paintings... to showcase the story "properly". I mean, they are the reason Arthur is fighting with Lucious after all, so they should be there
