Doh, I didn't see the "X" at the end of your original comment.

The "X" version of this effect uses a special "X" shaped shadow at the feet of the performing model. I've used this version on my CORE stage set if you want to check it out.

Huh. I guess the only one of the two I might want is AL, because I must already have X then. Thanks!

For some reason, this happens no matter if I load the models in before or after the working floor and change the draw order...

Hmmm... the skydome reflected fine... does this happen with other models or just this one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

YuzurushiNatsu In reply to Trackdancer [2016-09-01 14:11:40 +0000 UTC]

it happens with all the models, and oddly enough, this only happens when I use the mirror floor included with the learnMMD stage...

Trackdancer In reply to YuzurushiNatsu [2016-09-01 15:11:43 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm... that's rather odd. Oh well, you can use the regular mirror floors with the LearnMMD stage instead; the only difference with the one included with that stage is the shape of the floor. Alternatively, change the code files included with LearnMMD stage with a set of files from a working copy of the working floor, just overwrite the existing files. That might fix the problem. I used an earlier version of the code with the LearnMMD floor and that might be the issue.

The MMD UI will only register legal entries. Try typing "0.75" (or whatever number) and then hit the register button. It should take the change. If it doesn't I have no idea what else can be done. Do you have any other problems with MMD registering changes?

Also, if you're using Windows10 to make sure you are allowing MMD to have the permissions it needs to function correctly.

The mirror surface can be any flat shaped plane which can easily made in any 3D modeling application.

Working Floor создает два зеркальных отражения.
Правильное у ног и второе в стороне.

Подскажите,  от чего  может это  быть  и  как с это  убрать.
Вторая  модель в  проекте никаких багов не имеет и отражается корректно.

Working Floor creates two mirror reflection.
right at the feet, and the second in the side.

Prompt from what it can be and how to remove it
The second model in the project has no bugs and is reflected correctly

Looks like you have two instances of the effect model file loaded. Once on the ground plane and another on the vertical plane.

Как оказалось, это так  WorkingFloorAL N2+C  конфликтует  с Edge Line моделей.
Уменьшение толщины  Edge Line до 0 помогло решить  эту проблему

As it turned out, so WorkingFloorAL N2+C conflict with the Edge Line models.
Reducing Edge Line thickness 0 to help solve this problem

So the models shouldn't reflect back as a white copy if you mess with the transparency right?

hello~ thank you for the tutorial.. I followed everything here but I still cant get it to work > A <.. Everything get's reflected yes but the floor itself is replaced by the mirror effect i.gyazo.com/b59198cff235f77fdc… can you tell me what I am doing wrong? This has been bugging me for days..

Trackdancer In reply to MisunderstoodFreak [2016-05-29 19:18:45 +0000 UTC]

1. check your model/accessory draw order
2. check that you did in fact make the mirror floor translucent

If you're still stuck, please dig through my tutorials gallery. Your questions are specifically addressed in tutorials that I've done specifically addressing the issues raised in your post.

MisunderstoodFreak In reply to Trackdancer [2016-05-30 04:55:51 +0000 UTC]

Right. I actually looked at your other tutorials and tried the workingfloor too--not the mirror one-- but it also gives me the same result, the floor is gone and is replace by the effect, you cant see any trace of the floor left, if you looked at my screenshot at the link in my previous comment you'll see what i mean. now about the draw order--i looked at your draw order tutorial too but I couldn't find anything that would help me there-- i can only see this gyazo.com/8457b46adc47a713e66e… and this gyazo.com/167909c6966996265df5… there's only one file in the 'accessory' so I couldn't understand how should I move the draw order. Can you please explain this more like how a beginner would understand?.... and for number 2. Do you mean the transparency of the MirrorWF.x? If you mean that then I had set it the same way in your tutorial--please look at my screenshot in the previous comment-- but if there's any other way to set the translucence of MirrorWF.x please tell me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to MisunderstoodFreak [2016-05-31 20:28:50 +0000 UTC]

1. Set the over 'n' th number to '0'
2. Set the Tr value of the mirror effect x-file to a value less than '1' - say '0.5' to start

You should then be able to see the stage floor thru/under the mirror effect. For greater transparency decrease the Tr value of the mirror effect model file.

These figures should work for the configuration as shown in your screenshots.

Here's the general principle: models and effects with transparency needs always to be drawn last because of the way MMD resolved the way models are drawn.

If you have other questions, the draw order tutorials explains exactly how MMD calculates the model draw order and how the two draw order lists are inter-related.

Hello again~ I followed the step on your last comment and it finally worked!! It was the accessory draw order that I missed. I apologize for being troublesome but I'm really a beginner in this stuff. so thank you very much for being responsive to my questions and being patient > A <.. I think I somehow understand the draw orders now.. Thank you again and have a nice day /o/

Trackdancer In reply to HuaQiao8 [2016-05-13 18:15:17 +0000 UTC]

Because your draw order is incorrect. Find a tutorial on sorting MMD's draw order to resolve the issue.

For certain x-file format models are not reflected, but I've not heard of nor seen PMD or PMX models not being reflected.

Do you know how to make a subset not to reflect? For instance, there's a rug on the floor and i don't want to to reflect. If i put it higher than the base floor material,i'll get some alpha glitches

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to EclipsedVisions [2015-06-25 17:20:36 +0000 UTC]

Yep, two solutions:

1: Put the rug higher so that it doesn't occupy the same 3D space as the hardwood floor.
2: Make a special mirror.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EclipsedVisions In reply to Trackdancer [2015-06-25 17:31:11 +0000 UTC]

I did the 1st option before commenting, because of alpha channel on the rug material there are alpha channel errors, some wood parts don't reflect stuff(which is why I was struggling in the first place)
I guess I will try making a mirror, thank you

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to EclipsedVisions [2015-06-25 17:49:09 +0000 UTC]

I was assuming that the rug was a separate part. Well there is a solution. Make the rug a separate part and put that above the mirrored part of the floor.

Without more info on the model that is not showing a reflection it is hard to determine what's going on. But if I was to hazard a guess, I would suspect that the material specifications of the model are at the root cause of the problem.

MaiteRitsuki In reply to Trackdancer [2015-05-10 20:09:55 +0000 UTC]

The models pmd,are reflected, but the pmx, no.
What should I do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to MaiteRitsuki [2015-05-10 20:16:04 +0000 UTC]

The effect reflects PMD and PMX models only but not Direct-X models (.x). I've never seen what your screenshot shows happen with this effect which is why I suspect the material specifications for the model may be the cause. But there's another possibility. Does the effect work on your PC with other PMX models?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Wampa842 In reply to Trackdancer [2015-05-14 17:51:46 +0000 UTC]

That's not entirely true. Working Floor works with DirectX models as well, although it requires some manual setup.

When you load MirrowWF (or any other Working Floor accessories), an HLSL header file, MWF_Object.fxsub or WF_Object.fxsub, is automatically assigned to all PMX and PMD models. After loading MirrorWF, you can go into MMEffect -> Effect Mapping, and there'll be a new tab called MirrorWFRT. You can assign this .fxsub file to any items in the list (you have to display "All files" in the open dialog).
MaiteRitsuki , you should check if this file is assigned to your PMX model.
