Hey, I'm not sure if you'll see this and sorry if I sound dumb (just started using PMD Editor about a week ago) and the Plugins option is greyed out. Is there any way to fix it that you know of?

Make sure you have the correct permissions set for the plugin.

Welp, it's official. Windows 7 all the way with my next computer. Between the issues with PMD/X plugins, Mabinogi, lack of a start menu on 8, and other shenanigans, I'm sticking to what works.

I'm still using Windows XP (at least on this laptop). Yeah I don't like Win 8 at all.

Holy crap! I'd be the same way if my computer was XP. Only reason I took all XP computers in my house offline was because they didn't belong to either me or my brother (we're both the tech people, I seriously don't trust my parents with an OS not receiving updates, and I don't trust my sister on a computer without supervision, period).

Hopefully 10 resolves most of the issues with 8, though I have a feeling the access denied one will still be an issue...

Actually, I like XP. Yeah, the lack of updates is a concern, but it's still soldiering on hassle free so far.

I like XP as well, it's just the people who own XP...well let's just say the family computer got a nasty malware infection, and it wasn't me or my siblings.

So far, touch wood, I've not experienced any serious security breaches on my XP running laptop. My security programs still seem to catch everything before any real damage is done. Then again, I don't click on dodgy links or download games or music from uncertain sources.

I don't either-my parents and sister, however, are VERY prone to that. Mom managed to get a nasty infection by doing dubious surveys to get extra money.

Eh .... you want to tell your Mom to stay away from online surveys except from reputable (ie. name brand) businesses.

I pretty much had a word with her-and now karma's dealing with her for that-the replacement computer they got (because the place we took it to pushed us to buy a new computer even though I was able to pull data off and sanitize the files....) is a dud that had to be re-imaged twice because the tech support provided under warranty constantly claims it's not a faulty hard drive.

Hi trackdancer!
With your vast PMD editor plug-ins expertise, can you please be so kind as to direct me to any PMD editor plug-ins which can display, select, or edit or etc. SDEF:

"...it seems to me that the SDEF sphere center points are like single-point bones. In PMD editor, there should be a button, or a menu item, which I can select, which will display, or list, all of the SDEF center points of a model. I searched through PMD editor and I did not find such a button or menu item. Is there any help that you can please give me on this subject?"

To understand the context in which I am asking this question, see the comments which I have posted here:

I have never had any issues with my models' vertices so I don't pay any attention to my models' BDEF or SDEF values in the PMD Editor.

Thanks for the info! Where to find them (according to you): VPVP, Bowlroll, Youtube, NicoNico, DeviantArt, google.

It would be really nice to have a complete listing of PMD editor plug-ins and download locations.

"It would be really nice to have a complete listing of PMD editor plug-ins and download locations."

Good luck if you want to do this. As far as plugins are concerned, I personally don't use many. Most of my modeling is done outside of the PMD Editor and the Editor itself is only used to make the final conversions to make the models work with MMD. So in essence it's primarily some minor assembly work and administrative functions. Most of these can be accomplished with the built-in facilities and rarely do I need to make use of a plugin.

The PMD Editor is not and should not be confused with a full blown 3D modeling app. That is not it's purpose. It was never intended to be other that what it is: a conversion program.

Will there is perhaps one exception to my last statement above: adding physics. Yeah, that's got to be done using the PMD Editor.
