Description
LARGE FILE PLEASE DOWNLOAD.PLEASE NOTE THIS IS KIND OF AN OLD TUTORIAL. MY METHODS ARE DIFFERENT NOW IN SOME ASPECTS.
Okay.. first off I'd like to really thank everybody who gave feedback on what they wanted in this tutorial. hence why whats in it is kinda random. This tutorial covers the basics of how to shade certain things using paint tool SAI.
Wow this took ages... i've been pretty busy so i did this over the course over a few days so i hope it all makes sense please forgive any typos :/

how do you paste the pattern in SAI
since mine is the trial version, i guess its not complete ;v;
and when i open a picture, its like the whole entire picture is the canvas
so how do i insert a picture, when a picture is already there ? ;v;
im sorry if you dont understand
its ok if you cant help me tho ^^

im not sure about the trial version.. but open the pattern file in SAI then press ctrl+a (which selects the whole image) the press ctrl+c to copy then in your art file press ctrl+v to paste it.
I hope that helps.

when i paste fabrics ,i open a new sai file ,select all of the fabric ,(if the image is too small for the area ,resize it) ,and paste it in the lowest possible layer .That way ,it is covered by the skin ,etc.you could erase anything "sticking out" of the lineart.Maybe there are better methonds ,but that's how i do it.

Thank you so much! Just one question: how do you change the color of the lineart? ^^
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Annabel-m In reply to sarkiya [2014-03-20 00:59:53 +0000 UTC]
okay, so directly above the lineart layer create a new layer and check 'clipping layer' (it'll be above the layers viewer.) and you paint the colour on the clipping layer
