they're in a4 sized packs in the t-shirt sections of stores like joann fabrics! or any other craft stores. i think wal-mart has them sometimes too! they come with instructions. you're welcome!

How did you approximate how large to make the face?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to Xaneres [2012-12-12 06:57:32 +0000 UTC]

i measured the width of the sphere! then printed out different sizes around that measurement on regular paper to see which looked best.

Fantastic tutorial, and amazing plushy skills. So... regular t-shirt iron on sheets won't work?

I'm totally going to try and learn how to sew now. XD -hoping that i'll win this novel contest so i'll have enough to afford the materials- .....lol Thanks so much for this I totally want to make one! XD

you're welcome! it's very tiny so the materials shouldn't be too expensive if you can get them offline. good luck if you do get to make one!

shizz okay, can you still find a way to make the face with out the iron on stuff?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to myloveXD [2012-09-06 00:01:34 +0000 UTC]

you can try painting it! or simplifying his features and using felt, or button eyes, or anything else like that.

i guess you could like use photo paper and glue the pieces on but it would be hard to get that to look good.

yeah i can help! is it just normal sculpey?

BluePuppyBell In reply to b00ts [2012-08-07 00:31:01 +0000 UTC]

It says Sculpey then a roman numeral 3, i've never used sculpey before.

b00ts In reply to BluePuppyBell [2012-08-07 01:04:49 +0000 UTC]

ok!! the website says, "Bake at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4 in (6 mm) thickness. DO NOT MICROWAVE. Baking should be completed by an adult. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME." so if the horns you're making are the same size as mine i would bake it for 12-15 minutes, but check a few times to make sure they aren't burning or cracking. if there are some small burns on them, it's okay, because you'll paint them after.

If I wanted to add the scars to Gamzee's face, would I just paint them on there with acrylic paint or draw some and print them on the iron-on sheets?

And this is the most epic thing ever btw.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to Xx-Zerox-xX [2012-04-02 08:08:27 +0000 UTC]

it would probably be easier to paint them on! i didn't want to try that, haha, it seems like a lot could go wrong! maybe test a few things out on a scrap sheet of fabric first.

thank you!
