A new chapter has commenced! ok. So uh colors are the bane of my existence I'm pretty sure. I tried to go with a color palette, but then I deviated away from that, and then I took a break to cry on the floor in fetal position because COLORS DON'T LIKE ME! Well uh they aren't actually that bad, but I do struggle a bit with them. And that's part of the reason I'm doing this comic in color; it'd be much easier to just make it black and white, but I want to improve my coloring.
Also I hope you like Undyne's little invoking of Mettaton

I think that was Mad Dummy's host body, but I do not think that Mad Dummy is dead. As I understand it, Mad Dummy is an incorporeal ghost that possess objects like the training dummy. They do not become corporeal except in the Genocide route when their overwhelming emotion allows them to permanently bond with their body and transform into Glad Dummy. I think that this just means that Mad Dummy was forced out of that body and probably went off to find a new one, maybe.

I could have made it fill the panel, but I kind of wanted the bubble's small size to contrast with Undyne's large one in the next panel, therefore emphasizing her excitement.

Having the first panel done in pixels is a great idea. It makes it easier to imagine that you're still in game. I really like that.

I'm glad you noticed that. Yeah, to me immersion is important in this comic... The events that are unfolding are horrifying in their own right, but when you see the characters like they're in-game, you're reminded that this story could have actually happened canonically in one of Flowey's runthroughs, making the story horrifying on a whole new level.

Wow, you did well in making it look hardcore. Also, Undyne looks as pleased as she did in the story, which means you are the ultimate awesomeness in terms of the creation of representing the story through a comic that I haven't seen anyone else do yet. So nice job bruh!

Man I wouldn't have guessed at all that you struggled with the colors--they look great here! I love how you draw Undyne, too--she looks so ferocious and awesome. (Also like how you actually give her hair other than her ponytail--I know that's how she basically looks in the game, with JUST the ponytail and nothing else on top of her head, but I personally like how you drew it better XD; ) Also, nice job with the motion of her swinging Papyrus around! And the spritework too--I like the details of the rug being torn and the wall being cracked. Great work on this page!

Thanks! I did a lot of research on Undyne's design; I originally wanted to make her bald with just a ponytail like her battle sprite, but the logic of that just bugged me so much. I'm really trying to follow the original designs as best I can (haha besides Papyrus' clothes aren't canon), so I rationalized giving Undyne a hairline. My idea is that she does have a hairline like in her dating sprite, but they didn't bother putting it in her battle sprite because it just isn't necessary and would probably distract from the rest of her overall design. Drawing in black and white pixels comes with its own special challenges, I suppose.
I had to look up a reference for that swinging motion; there are just so many poses I've never even thought of drawing before which I can try my hand at here! And I'm glad you appreciate the spritework; I need to figure out how to animate stuff, 'cause then I'd make some cute sprite gifs.

That could be--sprites are really hard to do, so it wouldn't surprise me if Toby just didn't bother with the hairline.
Haha, sounds like this is good practice for drawing action! Where did you find references for that sort of thing?
Oh, if you use Photoshop, you can animate it with that! It's pretty easy to use. I've animated some fake Undertale screenshot things (for FINAGLC, even) that way. Though dialogue is a pain in the absolute butt to animate because it takes so many frames. I guess it's easier if you have an actual animation program, but for simple frame-by-frame stuff, Photoshop gets the job done.

For the swinging I googled a lot of different terms, and after searching "hugging and spinning a girl" I found a gif of Jimmy Fallon being swung around: giphy.com/gifs/vYenVGkEB9C9O . I guess Undyne is the equivalent of the big black man in the gif.
