Description
UPD2: Guys, I really am chuffed that so many people found this tutorial helpful. It came as a total surprise when DA gave me a Daily Deviation for it, and that it has accumulated 55K views. I am surprised and honoured. However, I think that this tut is now terribly outdated. Hardly anyone uses ImageReady anymore. In this day and age, you can make an animated GIF directly in CS5, online - even in Powerpoint, whatever rocks your boat. If I had time, I could make a CS5 stamp tutorial or something - however, there are some awesome tutorials for that already, so why reinvent the wheel?
I haven't got time to reply to all the comments I get for this deviation, or respond to all the faves - so comments are disabled for now, sorry!
Last but not the least: this tutorial is far from perfect. I don't make stamps anymore. I am a published manga artist, I draw manga and illustrations and do workshops (and have been doing so since 2004, would you believe!). I really am somewhat disappointed that this tutorial got noticed and recognised more than any work that I put my heart and soul into.
So thank you for your interest - and please check out other art in my DA gallery, or on my website www.irinarichards.com.
Thanks! Peace and love all around ^^

I made an animation in Flash that I would like to be made into a stamp. Can you send me a note with instructions about doing that?

You mean you've made a stamp but it has more than 7 slides? The number of slides shouldn't matter when you upload it on DA.

Mine that your tutorial helped. Even if it was not the same one I looked at the features and saw if they could match for PSP7! Yay.

So.......how do I do that? I upload stampsomething and all the other stamps of it (slides) should be on it? ^^

Of course - if you saved your stamps as gif, it will contain all the slides you put in it ^^
Just go to Submit deviation (as you normally do) and in categories choose DA Related => Stamps.

Aww darn. I'm used to Painshoppro7, not photoshop. What size do you use for the stamp?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
irinarichards In reply to DryBonesReborn [2010-03-12 21:46:29 +0000 UTC]
Same size as a standard DA stamp template - 55x100.
Something I've just recommended to somebody else - there are services like Gickr [link] and GifNinja [link] where you can upload your pictures and make an animated gif from them.

I don't think so ( but if you have no PS you can try and make an animation on Gickr: [link] or another similar service. Just choose your images (up to 10 of them), then upload them, choose the size and the speed, and voila! Hope it helps

It can be done in Flash, tho you'll have to find another tutorial for that
Altrernatively, you can make simple animations online on services like Gickr: [link]

Thanks for the great tut. Maybe now I can do a good stamp. (your personal taste may vary ) I hope I can do this with PS Elements 5.0. (I tried using PS 6 but you can't do jack with trial runs.

just asking will it work on Photoshop Cs3?

irinarichards In reply to Ookami-chiyu [2010-01-22 17:30:19 +0000 UTC]
I think CS3 has an "Animate" option when you save your file for web and choose your file format as .gif. But I'm not 100% sure, sorry ^^
