Please note that this tutorial WILL NOT:
*Teach you Blender
*Make finished, ready to dance, fully boned models

If you can't do any of this yourself, I strongly suggest just waiting until someone else does it for you. There are several experienced modelers and converters uploading them every day.

Actually, 3DCG IS just a hentai with a dress up side... but it's also a really good resource for accessories and such.
I had it for a while, but even if you have it just for the clothes and such, they have reeeaaally bad chests on them and the physics can be pretty iffy.

It *did* have a cute side, because the girl you dressed up last would greet you when you start it up and either be all happy or yell at you for not playing in a while. The cuteness wore off pretty fast though when you got back in the game/dress up room and were reminded that it was well... a porn game. (¬_¬)

Uuuh... lonely, horny asian dudes?
It is pretty sad, but whatever. I can sympathize. It's like a sexy tamogatchi for shut ins! LMAO

I'm just pissed that the models are so ugly and have gawd awful physics on them. Like, how did the guy in charge of that decide that was good, let's sell it now! FAIL.

how do you get them to stand upright?

JerisEnigma In reply to CaxceberXVI [2012-12-03 02:43:37 +0000 UTC]

Select everything, then use the widget (red, blue and green arrow/circle thing) that pops up to turn and drag it around as needed.

I converted a model into mmd from obj, but when I opened it up in pmd editor, the bottom half is just a white block. Is there anyway to fix it?

JerisEnigma In reply to xTerraxJanex [2012-11-15 20:02:04 +0000 UTC]

Read the tutorial again to fix any texture errors and such, but also check the layers for that box.
Blender may have exported the blank cube it starts with along with your model, or a formerly invisible box (for an effect or something in game) is just showing up. Either way, you can just delete that layer if you find it.

Okay... looks like you didn't import anything into Blender to begin with... You've just exported that cube it starts with.

If you send me the original model you're trying to convert, I can do it for you and send it back.

DON'T send me the square, send what you tried to convert before all this. :$

Here you go: [link]
She still needs bones and rigging though, I just converted her for you.

Here's how I did it:
-Start Blender and delete the cube
-Import OBJ file
-Export All to .X
-Import .x to PMDe at 2.65 (she was already pretty big)
-Changed all the color layers (white-black-grey, 1-10-1)
-Opened texture in Paint and saved it as Rayne.png (because I was too lazy to change Rayne.png to Raynebody.bmp on all those layers)
-Made her a little bigger (1.2) with PMDSizeChanger
-Changed her toons to look a little nicer and saved as .PMD

I'm sorry you got confused somewhere... If you have more questions, I'll do my best to help you with them!

How do you rip models from n64 roms? I'm trying to get cornell and cornell's beast form from castlevannia legacy of darnesdness.

JerisEnigma In reply to dionn12345678910 [2012-11-08 07:02:47 +0000 UTC]

I have no idea. It's different for each system and a lot of times even each game, and I haven't tried either of those.
Try your luck with Google, that's how I figure it out every time.

It's usually best to just stalk places like The Modeler's Resource until someone does it for you. Other wise you end up having to download 5 programs just for one game. All in all, no fun.

Well I tried about everything free. Its no good on a windows 2000. I'm gonna either try to make a look alike, or try to ask nintendo for the model.

Id use pmd editor but no good after Microsoft turned all updates off pmd. editir stopped working after last Christmas.

Oh wow, sounds like you need an upgrade pretty badly... At least to WinXP, that was the best one in my opinion.

I really can't help you much, seeing as everything I've used had to be on XP or newer, and even THEN had to have a zillion updates and plugins to work.

Every time I export the model to a .pmd file, I get an error. I'm I doing something wrong?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JerisEnigma In reply to Jun-Himekawa [2012-10-16 05:29:24 +0000 UTC]

Nope, it's just being a jerk again. It does that to me every once and a while.

Try exporting to .x instead.

If THAT doesn't work, export to .3ds, then import and export THAT to a .x file. Takes a smidge longer, but I've never had that fail.

JerisEnigma In reply to Kira-chan1 [2012-09-03 20:18:21 +0000 UTC]

If they're PMX then you don't need to convert them, just use the newest version or MMD.
I believe it's 7.39, at least that's the one I got latest: [link]
This link should come up as an error. Just click the address bar and hit enter for it to DL. (It's a direct link)

Redownload then. If the file name is in Japanese, rename it.
It may be corrupted or your computer may not play nicely with Japanese file names.

413X [2012-08-21 06:38:27 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I have some things.
1. My model is black, not white with shades of grey. Don't know if that means anything but... (Then again I am messing with the Shadow Sora from KH1... >w>;; Maybe I should go with a model that isn't black to begin with? )
2. I can't get the textures to show on the model. Diffuse and the other color are set to '1' but they still don't show.
I read through the comments and haven't seen anyone with these problems. Help?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

JerisEnigma In reply to 413X [2012-08-21 13:04:56 +0000 UTC]

Is the last one 1 as well? Ambient is really the most important because it'll at least give you an outline so you can see what you're working with. That could make everything show up if it was still 0.

Also, open up the model in PMDe and zoom/scroll until you can see inside it. It sounds like your model might be UV/normal flipped. If so, then all the textures will show on the inside and be black on the outside.
I usually get this problem with super detailed, high quality models that SEEM to be converting nice, but then just their arm or cape does this crap.

You may be able to fix it in Blender by flipping the normals before/during exporting, but if that does anything it usually causes me more problems elsewhere. :/

A super ghetto way to fix it is to make the model semi-transparent by making the first color 0.6-0.9 instead of 1. If the textures ARE on the inside, they should show through then... But will probably be backwards or inside out, etc. At least with that you'll know 100% what the problem is!

[I hope that made sense... >.< I've only been up for about 20 minutes. I swear I know what I'm talking about tho XD]

Fun fuuun. Yeah, perhaps try with a model that isn't MEANT to be solid black...
His textures could just be mapped wrong and you wouldn't even know it! XD

413X In reply to JerisEnigma [2012-08-21 20:59:54 +0000 UTC]

After a few tweaks and following your instructions I managed to figure out what had happened. Seems that if you add in the letters 'PMD' to the file name, not the extension, it'll make PMD editor flip and make the model not work correctly.(Who knew?) At least that's what happened with the Shadow Sora model.

Try exporting your model to 3ds or obj first, then to .x or pmd. That usually fixes that error for me.
It doesn't happen everytime, about 50/50 for me. If you can get a working .x though, don't bother with the pmd. PMDe will open the .x just fine.

Press ctrl+v to bring up the layers box (if it isn't already open) and check all the boxes on the left. Then either ctrl+a in the model's window or draw a box around it to select everything. Just use the little wheel that comes up to adjust it how it needs to be.

Should look like this (in case I'm confusing LOL):
