Description
Edit: Part II (digital inking) now available!: [link]Also, eyes tutorial: [link]
Starring Cloud from Advent Children!
Yes, I know that sometimes sketches are Never So Clean as they are in this case... I'll talk about digital inking sometime in the near future in another tutorial. But this is for those who sketch cleanly or who go back and clean up their pencil sketch by erasing and redrawing the lines.
Feedback appreciated! (was it clear? more/less detail? What other stuff would you like to see?)

Oh wow. I really find this tutorial useful! I always tried to find something like this but everything was difficult or still involving Digital Lineart which wasn't helpful at all. This is a really simple tutorial and it is useful for people like me who don't really enjoy digitally linearting it. well done!

I laughed as soon as i started reading it. before i even clicked on the link i randomly soft-yelled (oO contradiction??) "it's Cloudo!!" (don't ask) just because of the gravity defying hairdo. I was surprised when i guessed right. Gotta love Cloud. I still haven't gotten to see Advent Children in english (Mom never reads the entire detailed paragraph when buying movies online...)

This was very helpful to me I actually have it saved as favorites, but I have a few questions. Do you know what the problem is if when you make a new layer to color something and and no matter where you choose to color it always fills in the entire picture. Am I doing something wrong? Can you help? Thankyou.
I love cloud btw Hehe.

Squee! I haven't had a scanner in.. over two years. X"D I finally got one today, and was quite prepared to die a horrid gruesome death trying to figure out how to work with actual sketch lines instead of digitally inking.. <3 Thank you very much.

I like the transparency of pencil lines, but my God I have trouble with how ragged it all appears close up. Nothing seems smooth, and it seems like one has to depend on the "work huge, then compress so no one can see close up". I've worked with ink so much I can't handle working in pencil, but I wanna! Any tips on how to deal with raggedy lineart?
