This is amazing, I never thought it would be this easy.
So far I'm still on one layer, something I thought was impossible for spaceart, and so far I'd say it looks decent to be my first.
Now onto brushing like a madman.

I have a shitty one I got for a commissioned job like 2 years back, a Wacom Volito2. It's pretty much the most crappy one out there atm .
Gettin a new, "real" one soon tho when the money say Yes!
If you gettin a wacom now at a beginners lvl I'd recommend the Bamboo wacom. It's superb for a starting wacom (like 10x better than mine also lol). It features a black sleak design with a comfortable pen. The tablet has 4 buttons that's very usable when workin in photoshop indeed. Also the zoom funtion that lets you for example zoom your canvas, if you don't just alt + flick your pen that is ;D.
Get the Bamboo, you won't be let down.

Awesome tut. Btw, for making nebulas, do you use the smudge tool or is this just 100% Brushing?
Thank you!

ladyrapid In reply to Verithia [2008-06-03 21:37:31 +0000 UTC]
Last few months I'v been all into brushing more or less. The smudge tool can be implemented of course as much as one like, I just haven't used it so much latley. It's not a tool to understimate tho, it yields power as a mofo . Some strok-techniques is just damn hard to get right with a brush and so easy with smudge tool. Since the opacity/preassure/toning comes automaticly from the smudge rather from the brush.
Brush <> smudge tool is a fantastic combination. THO! learnin basic brushing before start smudging is to recommend!

Yessssssss. I've been working on both, lately. I've always drawn on paper so I have some technique there, so now I'm learning to put it all in photoshop and stuff.
Thank you again for the tut

I can't start rabmling to advanced mate, I did this for the ones who need the first kick up the arse ;D. Who knows, I might write a more in depth tutorial on how to really make it interesting hehe.
There's only one problem here. I have the knowledge to write pretty hardcore things but I lack the skills to present it for you hehe so I can write a theoretical tut if you'd like lol.
An advanced one will come cuz even how boring it is to actually make the tuts I know that it's good to have them out there and especially if people can be helped from 'em, then they really serves their purpouse.

Hmmmm, if I'm just setting the "flow" on 20 % it sucks, it's rather easy to put "opacity" on 20 % x).

The Bamboo is probably the best beginners choice (it's way better than mine lol. I have this old shit that needs to be upgraded ASAP) and still at a fair price. Try ebay or something, buying used is always a good deal trying out things, make sure you get a decent new one so that you have some sort of warranty left on it .
GL!
