ARRRRRRRRGH! MY HAAAAANNNNND!*whimpers*
Okay, I'm done drawing for today. This one will make a lot more sense once I get it colored. Requested piece for ~yen-ta , but just as much for me.
Also added Don-ta in the background, tacklin' another tentacle.

Oh yes - as much as I like the tentacled creeps, I'm always going to root against them as well. I hope to tackle the color fairly soon!

Oh, absolutely! It's not going to be all that difficult to color, actually. I need much more concentration to get the linework to look right! The color schemes of the individual characters will be tackled one at a time, and collectively, the main characters take up more than 50% of the space on the paper. The rest is just shading tentacles. That'll be tedious, but I don't think it'll take all that long.

There's about sixteen hours of work in this so far, pencil and inking included. I've spread it out over a couple of weeks so that I wouldn't go crazy.

This is probably the most ambitious Predator piece I've ever attempted - it's definitely one of the largest at 14x17, and that's a *lot* of space to fill.

Woo-hoo! Talk about a battle! I feel for your hand, and likely wrist & arm. That's a lot of work. It looks really great. The perspective is pretty good and you haven't even added the colors yet.
I like the concept of the "World Cancer." Is it an original idea or something to be found in a commercially published book? It reminds me a lot of the Cthulhu mythos, only because of the tentacles, however it looks pretty original to me. Most of the Old Ones & Elder Gods were never described as being young...

The idea of the world cancer, in this particular incarnation, is original - but yes, it's rooted in the squishy goodness of the Cthulhu Mythos. I'm planning to write a Predator/Cthulhu Mythos story crossover one of these days, and this was a project I was using as a lead in, and as a sort of "place holder" idea. (That is, if I have artwork sitting in front of me that reminds me of a particular story, I'm more likely to get the story down on paper before I forget it.

LOL - I think I encountered Predator first when I got old enough to appreciate the comics, and I fell in love with their detailed armor styles. I got into Aliens a couple of years later, and though I enjoy the Aliens all to pieces, it's the Predators that kept my attention during my formative years.

I think they are both admirable, I don't think either can really get old. It is just Predators resembles people a little too much at times for me to enjoy the mayhem they cause lol. But I really enjoy all the Predator movies! And I just love how detailed and wonderful your art is, it really captures the essence of what should be appreciated!

Well in this case, Orion = a graphic novel by Masamune Shirow.
Basically there's a psychoscientist trying to destroy all the evil in the world, but by doing so almost destroys the world becuase there's that lack of balance...
And you can't destroy energy anyways, so it all just ends up gathering and looking like some giant tentacle monster.
