Tooth & ClawChapter 1 - "Sir Milo"

Introducing Chapter 1 of Tooth & Claw, "Sir Milo".
Trouble is stirring in the muskrat village of "Greenwater" and its up to 'Sir Milo' to help save a family in peril, but not all is at is seems to be. If you like cartoons involving anthropomorphic animals set in a medeival time period with darker and more serious overtones, then this one's for you. The start of hopefully more to come. Chapter 2 is already in progress.

Thanks for checking it out. I got a DD on chapter 2. Once I figured out that I wanted to tell the whole story I started making it into a graphic novel because it never would of gotten finished otherwise.

LOL. You're lucky I know what that means. Straight from All Dogs Go To Heaven, and phrased by the Nostalgia Chick. But yes, it was a dream, and its whole purpose was to not just draw you in, but to give you a feel of the real danger that's really happening outside of his comfy village. It is a bit of foreshadowing because minks and a burned forest are involved. In fact in chapter 2, Flower talks about the trouble since the big forest fire and how dangerous it was out there. Milo's an adolescent and just about an adult, so he's gonna have those kind of dreams, where he's the dude that's gonna come save the day and kiss the hot chick, but then those real life problems stir from his subconscious and plague the end of his dream.

The "OF COURSE!" line is probably my favourite running gag, when talking of world domination!
And yes, I can see where you're going with this!

how long did it takes to finish this? I was doing some camp lazlo animation and it's really consuming my time.

Any kind of animation is really time consuming, there's really no way around it. Each chapter has taken me around a year to make, but I put a lot of effort into making it really good. If I wanted it to be like any other web animated thing, it would be a fraction of the time, but I want it to stand out.

All of the above. The storyboards are made from the script. They are a bit messy look wise as I made about a hundred panels per chapter and I tried to get through it as quickly as possible more concerned about shot selection, framing, etc, rather than if I was on model with the character or not.

so that means you still using a paper? or just a template from pc? it's really hard to finish the background

I use Flash on a PC and draw everything in it with a Wacom tablet.

Mr. Sprybug, there is one thing that is lacking in this animation... And that is more attention from other deviants! Yes, its that good
The graphical aspects are really well done complemented by excellent dynamics (expressiveness, fluidity of movement, variety of angles and perspectives). Characters are interesting, and has a promising plot.
I wonder sir, how long does this took you to make? And at what FPS speed is it?

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm a big believer in word of mouth if something is good then it'll spread and it'll start getting attention, but it really hasn't, so it's probably only a few people that are actually interested in this sort of thing would actually like. It was a good experience for me making this and chapter 2, but now I think I'll turn it into a graphic novel, if I even do work on it at all.

It's hard work and takes a lot of dedication. Chapter two was finished just in time for the Melbourne festival. I haven't posted it here yet because I left out the end montage scene. Didn't have time to include it for the festival because it's not finished yet, but it wasn't necessary to move the story along. Once I add that, I'll upload it here and to Youtube.

Too long. Hehe. I had started on the idea a year before and slowly made a script, storyboard, and then designed the characters. Then I had to make all the character builds in Flash, with all the backgrounds and props. I did it mostly all by myself. The animation end took about 4 months, and made new drawings, etc that I needed as I went along. Chapter two is taking longer because I don't have as much time as I did before and I got ambitious in a few places, including a 2 1/2 dimensional background. You'll know when you'll see it when it shows up. I spent months on just that. I plan to be done with it next month and post it! I'm really close.

I find it insanely...insane that this hasn't had more recognition! It's very well animated and has an intriguing storyline. Definitely of a very high standard indeed! Keep up the awesome work, I would certainly love to see more, and I wish you the best of luck with your project :3

Thanks. I was hoping that word of mouth would help out, but I don't think people really tell others around here to check out certain things. Maybe a feature would help, but I have no idea how someone gets featured. I'm in the middle of chapter 2 right now. Almost half of it is animated at the moment.
