I can't seem to get it right. Where do you get these pens from? Are they available in Pakistan?

These are great, I have no idea why I haven't noticed them before. Damn ADD So thats what those things are [French Curves] I am using my hands and then some whites when I screw up. LoL. I am using microns at the moment cause my only Koh I Noor radiograph crapped out on me, and the place where I get my pens come out of the packaging like your are now [basically no ink at at all, so continual line build up] Cool vid man, thanx for taking the time to make it!

Thanks for making this!

Which pen size would you necessarily call the "overall" pen? I mean, the one people tend to use in most situations?
And is the French Curve necessarily mandatory? I don't have one.

StevenSanchez In reply to RocMegamanX [2009-05-19 07:06:55 +0000 UTC]
Pen sizes depend on the job one is doing. There is no one said pen size. Rather use'em all to get what line sizes you need for certain areas.
The French curve is a very awesome an powerful tool. Every artist should own a set or two around, one never knows when they'll come in handy. Hit the art store or even Staples and see what they have. A set normally goes for around $14.00 or so.
Save up, and score a set for yourself. They are worth it

This was such a great tutorial. I used to ink stuff with microns a lot, but I have such an unsteady hand my lines were never very stright.
I haven't touched them in forever because I'm always worried I'll screw up.
You give a lot of great techniques and I can't wait to try them out. c:
Also want to add I've watched a few of your tutorials so far, and they're very entertaining. Sometimes tutorials can be so boring, but I get really into watching you draw.

I'm kinda thinking that these pens might be expensive.
I kinda want them b/c my lines come out horrible, then again i don't even draw on paper anymore lol.
Don't scold me.
Nice vid tho.

I've been drawing for years, but your videos have still taught me a trick or two. I'm so glad I watched them! Especially your sketching videos... just found out I've been sketching the 'wrong' way this whole time! I've found that every time I spend more time on sketching, such as 'doodling' out all my lines and making them look scribbly (and spending hours on them), they never looked as good as the ones where I just quickly laid down the lines in quick, bold strokes like what you demonstrated. I couldn't believe I was doing it the wrong way that whole time- and now I'm sketching with a lot more confidence and I like the results much better.
Thanks for the tips man!

thanks for the tutorial. it is very informative. I have pens of my own. they are Copic pens =] they work pretty well, though they too get the ink erased off the page with the eraser. i will take that erasure tip you gave. =]
