I can't really comment as I can't see what you have or have not done.

Sorry.
I changed resource to the name of the texture and when I tried aplying it to the model and it has no effect.

And you did make a bump map to use as the resource map right?

You mean by having the fx and the bump map in the same folder?

That would help.
To re-emphasize the methodology:
1. Each material must be textured
2. Each material must have a correlating bump map
3. Each material must have it's own version of the effect file
After saying all that, although the effect should work on an anthropomorphic model, the effect really works best on things like stages. If you want bump mapping on anthropomorphic models, you'll get better results using the NCHL shaders and they are a lot less of a hassle.
Honestly, if this effect was that good, it would have been used a whole lot more than it is. As is, this effect as issued is more of a proof of concept than a utilitarian effect. Yes it works, but results varies depending on a lot of "ifs".

I already know the things you numbered. I'm trying to use the effect on game rips.
How do you use NCHL shader for bump maps?

NCHL shaders uses their own bump maps. All you have to do is to apply the correct version of the effect to the materials.

I already tried those and just like the other thing tt doesn't have an effect on the models.

1. What type of computer/graphics card do you have?
2. Does your PC have problems with other effects?
3. Does the normal maps used in the stage here work on your PC?

I'm deeply sorry for the extremely late reply but yes the normal maps that are on the stage do work on my computer and no it doesn't have problems with other effects.

Excellent tutorial, TD. And here I didn't think there was much more to learn about MMD.

If they overhaul and improve on the MMD render and lighting engine (again), much more will be possible with this software.

Very helpful, thanks. Shame it takes up the MME slot though. Wish there was a better way.

Wow, that's complicated. I might try it out sometime, though. Later.
No wonder all the normal/"n" images in XNALara rips look so blue. XD

The info here is really an FYI for other MMD modelers. The fact that MMD can be made to support normalmaps could be helpful to their work.
