Make sure that the discolight model is in fact selected and remember to hit the register button. If it still doesn't work, attach it to a dummy bone and move it up using that method.

if the discolight is assigned to the model, we can't assigned a another fx like adultshader in your example ?

Trackdancer In reply to myjay [2016-01-02 19:44:55 +0000 UTC]

Correct - but sometimes you could apply one of the 'post' effects which work on a global scale. eg. PostAdultShader if you can still find a d/l for it.

how do you get the light to show up on the model? i can get the stage to change colors but the model remain uneffected

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to DGCain [2015-08-20 18:36:50 +0000 UTC]

You have to apply the discolight fx file to the model also to get it to work, but I don't suggest that you do this as it can look really weird.

I don't believe this effect actually works anymore with the current versions of MMD, but there's a link to the effect on the VPVP Wiki.

May I ask, but my disco ball isn't spinning so should I upgrade the effect, or degrade the mmd version?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to pedmx [2014-07-11 19:19:08 +0000 UTC]

A lot of 'older effects' aren't working with or working odd with the newer/newest version of MMD. Don't degrade your MMD version for an effect, not worth it in my opinion. The disco light effect is a 'novelty' - after you messed with it once, you're not likely to use it again.

Mind pointing me in the right direction so I can find the disco effect? Like a web site or something? Google has failed me. All it brought up were tutorials on how to use it, but no links to actually download it.

Try VPVP Wiki's list of MME effects.

After some searching, I found where it should be located, but the distribution destination is gone. Is there a direct link you can link me to? I'm almost about to give up on ever finding it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to jibby691 [2014-06-05 00:11:16 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately, resource creators do occasionally stop distribution of items or sometimes, they move stuff to other venues. It just part of the MMD landscape. Ask around the MMD groups. Someone might have a working link.

i have a problem. How do i make the lights move on my model?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to groovykid2000 [2013-07-24 01:49:03 +0000 UTC]

I am assuming here that you're asking why the lights on the stage that comes with MMD doesn't move like in the example files packaged with the program.

Answer: They need to be individually positioned and animated. If you examine the sample files more carefully, you should be able to figure out how to it was done.

If on the other hand, it's the disco-ball that isn't moving, well then you're just out of luck. The effect is incompatible with your system.
