This really helped me out. I'm quite new to using Photoshop but I'm a fast learner when it comes to these sorts of things. I was glad to have found someone's journal with all these tutorial links in it, strategically stumbling upon yours in the process. This really made designing my tattoo in Photoshop a HELLUVA lot easier. Thank you!

hmm....instead of using the lasso tool, you can use the polygon lasso (click and hold down on the lasso tool and select the 2nd one i think)
that way you dont have to do as much fixing up afterward with an eraser, and its easier for mouse-users ^^

Great tutorial. It helps a lot, but I don't have Photoshop yet... ;3;
I'm curious. What does locking and multiplying a layer do?

Ah, it's kind of hard to explain with words... Perhaps I shall do a FAQ for this. In any case, you still don't have PS yet, I'll try to finish as soon as possible!

Put your hair layer below the lineart layer.

It's very basic, isn't it? ^___^`But many others don't know these things so I made it for them.
Yes, it'll hurt like hell, and it'll pay n the long process. *___*
Thank you!

thanks i'll already try and it tooks 4 hours T_T my hand.... my eyes..... ughh >_<
btw... the difference between photoshop cs and photoshop 7 is : in photoshop 7 , the brush cannot be set as color dodge, linear dodge and stuff... (so we have to make new layer with color dodge/linear dodge settings )

Twisted... You. Rock. Plain and simple.
I just have a quick question. When you say "burn around the edges" or doing something horizontally, do I just click my mouse and run the brush right across the hair??? O_o Seems kinda complicated... last time I tried doing that, everything turned black... or maybe that was just because I had already colored in the lineart before I scanned it...? 83 I dunno... but if you could just explain that term a little bit (I am new to CS terms... xD), maybe it might help me to understand everything... xDD
Oh, and GREAT JOB!!! I wonder if I'll ever get clothing folds right... TwT They are so hard, saaaaaaaa... and I'm nowhere near your skill yet!!! *cries as she shakes the computer screen, screaming "WHY?!?!?!?"*
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
twisted666 In reply to indubitanter [2005-10-03 11:48:30 +0000 UTC]
Yes, but make sure your brush is on Linear / Color Burn mode and a low, low (like 20+%) Opacity / Flow. If you turned up your brush to 100% Opacity / Flow in Burn mode, it will definitely turn black! Charred black.
Practice ne!!! Never give up!

I cannot possibly do it with a mouse. It's going to take so long to do the details...
Thanks!
