I'm a real fan of that bevel + dripping blood combo

Another good one
Sadly I can't use it as is, I don't have (or want) Photoshop (costs too much), BUT I can still apply this to GIMP (which is free) which has much of the same functionality so I should be able to adapt it
Thank you for posting this.
really cute IA by the way

GIMP is almost the same as Photoshop from what I've seen of it. In terms of capabilities, at least for casual use, the two programs seem essentially identical.

That is what I've found over the years as well. Other than some of the automated scripts in Photoshop for dealing with "redeye" and the likeΒ I've yet to find something that GIMP can't do just as well as Photoshop with regards to image manipulation.Β Plus the support for image formats that Photoshop doesn't. Β Which is really nice since Photoshop won't even run on my primary system, its Linux.
I've got MMD on a separate Windows system that I used to use only for gaming.Β Kind of a hassle to move files between the systems but I like the simplicity/speed/security of Linux over Windows, and its way cheaper and more flexible than Windows or MacOS.
Really looking forward to someone making a Linux version of MMD, its gonna happen one of these days ...

Windows... well it's been a love/hate relationship, but generally speaking, for an OS that is the 'market leader' it sure is buggy plus I love the fact that it doesn't come with free tech support. ><
