Umm... how do you do it in reverse? ^-^

Set the material to be invisible to begin with: Non-transp=0 and increase it to 1

Also you might need to use the addition option rather than the multiplication option - can't remember exactly but one or the other one will work.

Hello, I have a question I wanted to make an item from invisible to visible, I managed to make it visible with the add button but when I go to mmd and I can see the models bone the texture is ok but when I go to camera it goes white yet the slider does the appear effect. Is there any way to fix this? or is there another method of making the item visible? if so could you tell me if there is a tutorial about it or could you explain it I really need this.

I await your reply, thank you.

Invisible to visible is generally the reverse of the procedure of the process outlined in the tutorial above.

Yes I did it and it works but the item appears white like it has no texture

In "Material Morph Edit", you have to put 0 in all the panels after "tex:" (down R, G, B and A)

do you possibly know how to edit the facials to where.. )if i can explain this right)
My eyes close too much on the model, to where it clips with the skin. Is there a way to make the slider only always stop just before it starts to clip.. if that makes sense?

Look for a link either here on DA (where I got mine) or on LearnMMD.com

Yeah, my stuff usually works, as long as you follow the procedures outlined.

Um, I have a problem. When I used the "addition" for the invisible to visible slider, the textures for the fade in hair(because I'm making a super saiyan version of my OC) don't appear with their textures. Help?

Trackdancer In reply to RyukiKazuku [2016-03-13 22:50:49 +0000 UTC]

Fading in 'stuff' in the manner that you indicate is not usually done using the method discussed here.

Could you possibly make one of these for PMD instead of PMX? Or is it just impossible to do on PMD?

Trackdancer In reply to monono3421 [2016-03-13 22:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Can't fade stuff on PMD models (this is stated in the tutorial).

Very useful, but I have a trouble in making "inverse fade", i.e. using the same way to show a hidden material (default non-transparency value = 0).

I wanted to "softly" change the eye iris texture, making visible a red iris texture, combined to autoluminous effect (i.e. it has 110 reflection value).
I have the two textures on different materials, let's say MAT_IRIS_GREEN and MAT_IRIS_RED.
The second one has non transparency set on 0 (zero), and reflection value set on 110 (due to autoluminous effect needed).

Well, while I easely managed to create the first morph (MAT_IRIS_GREEN) which fades out the default iris, no way to show the second material. In the morph I set non-transparency for MAT_IRIS_RED to 1, but in "T" pmxeditor screen the slider morph doesn't make anything (nor in MMD after loading the model).

Note that if I manually invert the non-transparency parameters in pmxe material tab, pmxe correctly shows the red iris instead of the green one. Any idea?

btw: I use PMXEditor 2.19 English version

Trackdancer In reply to Riveda1972 [2016-02-02 22:26:45 +0000 UTC]

Have the slider also turn on/off the AL effect when the red eye is invisible. To do this set the AL mat's value to a value under 100 (say 99) and have it transition to 110 when maxed.

Riveda1972 In reply to Riveda1972 [2016-02-01 14:07:29 +0000 UTC]

Well It seems I managed to display the hidden iris texture, using "addition" instead of multiplication, and setting "1" as non-transparency value in the morph edit. ZERO on all other fields, but I'm not seeing the reflection, not in pmxeditor (T window) nor in MMD with autoluminous loaded. Just see the red iris, but no more.

CreepypastaLily [2016-01-08 19:48:35 +0000 UTC]

There is the button "all 0" in the edit panel. Make ALL materials to 0 with that button, and just call the slider "fade". Why making clothes disappear when you can make your entire model disappear ? Perfect transparency for ghosts models xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to CreepypastaLily [2016-01-08 20:43:50 +0000 UTC]

You can make all materials disappear or just some. Depends on what you need to be doing. BTW, you don't need to use the "all O" button to make all materials disappear.

As for making models semi-transparent, this cannot be properly done using sliders as making materials semi-transparent reveals the mesh structure of the model, so for 'ghost effects' either use Photoshop or the ghost MME.

sky-commander In reply to ??? [2015-12-26 06:02:20 +0000 UTC]

how  do i do this for things with multiple materials? i have a character with a swimsuit underneath her clothes and if i can, would like to make the outer clothes fade instead of shrink inside her body.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Trackdancer In reply to sky-commander [2015-12-27 21:36:02 +0000 UTC]

Make an entry (index copy) for each material that makes up the outer clothing and ascribe the fade effect to each one. You can have multiple indexed materials in the same slider. Just copy them enmasse or add them individually to the list.

Hey... I have a problem ... When I turn the slider to 100% without selfshadow , the textures appears but when I turn on the shadow  , it all becomes white. What can I do? P.S. The slider is invisible to visible

Follow the instructions exactly, but use "-1" instead of "0" and see if that helps resolve the issue.
