This tutorial was done using the PMD Editor...

But Im looking at it and its in pmx.
I tried doing this with pmd and it doesn't work.

Yep, only works with PMX type models. So just upgrade your PMD model to PMX standard.

my question is how do i fix facial bones?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to SoraJakeBlade [2016-09-20 01:07:37 +0000 UTC]

Well that depends on what needs fixing. Honestly, it's usually easier to just make a new one.

So, my question is, can you set this up to rotate a bone and all bones connected to it? I want to try making a rotation slider for the arms and legs. The stander setup just doesn't look good. Also, bending of the elbows and knees. With a slider, you could make the bending more flexed instead of hard edged. At least, that's my thinking.

Yes, you can make a facial that moves multiple bones. I used the technique in some of the facials used on this stage:Β fav.me/d7q8y7p

do you have one for regular facials?

Trackdancer In reply to TheLawOfZeroDivision [2014-07-11 18:48:23 +0000 UTC]

Now that you bought it up, actually no. I do believe, however, that others may already have tutorials on making regular facials though.

I have a character with no bone in the eye, I can not move their eyes that is not bone, you could create a tutorial to move his eyes, his pupil. please

I've flagged this message for a follow up. A lot of people have asked the same question so it sounds like a tutorial would be a good idea.

There is an easier way to do this xD

Trackdancer In reply to vocaloidsfan [2014-06-14 20:13:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes there is, but the point in writing these tutorials in this manner is sometimes it is better to explain the principles rather than just the methods.

You can and can't combine material/vertex sliders with bone sliders; you make your bone slider, make your material/slider, and then you add them to a group slider, I still use 1.3.8, so for me it's in the new slider list, segregated at the bottom, with a (G) next to it. Or you can select the facials you wish to group, right click, then select the Ctrl+G option. If you want to see the potentail of group sliders look at M2's PMX update of the default models (which can be found on VPVP Wiki) or his Imitation Miku 2.00 models. Also, be careful with bone sliders, it might just be my copy of MMD and PMD Editor, but sometimes the rotation at least will orient to the local axis or the global axis and can throw off rotation using the icons/buttons in the lower right.

Just sharing some info.

You can also make bone facial in the Transformation View window.

It's more easier to make bone facial that way.

Here's how I did :

- First, go to theΒ Transformation View window and move/rotate your bone.

- Next, you go to the top left most of the window bar and select the second tab (E).

- From the selection go click the one with (M) - [ Makes current bone position as bone slider ]

(The 7th option down the selection with my PMX version ver 0.1.3.9)

The new bone facial will be added at the lowest part of the list of facials.

You can also combine multiple bone facial to make into a single facial slider. Some models used bone slider like a gun model.

Or you can make complex pattern effect by making multiple simple bone facials.Β

It was a lifesaver - just saved me a bunch of work not having to do the motion for this set:

Definitely giving you a credit line in the readme.txt when this is finally released! I just did all the moving parts in the few minutes between our posts.

lol, good to hear it you are making progress.

Just be careful that bone slider had priority order, though It doesn't matter most of the time.

Moving the order of the bone slider can sometimes change what it will become at the end. It will happens when you are making multiple bone sliders for the same bone. When it does just rearranging the order on the list will do.

There's an even easier way if you have a group of bones to do.

1. In transform view load VPD data prepared in MMD - all the affected bones will be in green
2. Then hit the "M" option from the menu as above

PMD creates a new macro using all the bones moved in the VPD.

Good for you
I haven't touched the bone facials yet, but there are some things that I can use it for.

Trackdancer In reply to BlakeJX [2013-10-23 06:48:06 +0000 UTC]

I first saw it in use on a version of Tda Neru (the one in a white dress) sometime ago. I didn't really look at how it was done there, rather, I just mucked around in the PMD editor this evening and figured it out in about 10 minutes.

You said it, it can be really useful.
