Playing around with things can be highly illuminating - just remember to keep a backup of the original in case you mess up.

I updated now! The new Version is awesome!
By the way, there's also new that you can reset the lighting with a button and move the camera with the digital cross while camera lighting tracking is on.

Oo, def worth upgrading as it is more easier to animate now XD
It would be nice if they added the hand morphs like the one used in MMM though, it's kind of bothersome to have the manipulate the fingers

You know there's a modification you can do to your models to essentially do hand morphs in MMD - it's on that model that you got from me the other day, if I remember correctly. (If not, note me and I'll send you another model with the same modification so you can look more closely at this feature).
Manipulating fingers is a pain; that's why I have a library of basic hand poses which I use a lot.

Don't seem to have a mother finger bone that you call 'magic bone' on the model though

They would be labeled: fingers_R and fingers_L ~ if the model has it. It might not be on the chibi version, I have it on the full size model.

I haven't updated to this version of MMD yet but when I do, I'll refer back to this if there is some things that aren't clear to me.
This is a great help!

It's really worth updating. If only because, at least on my system, it's more stable and resource friendly + I really like being able to customize the UI.

Glad you find this useful, and so far, although it's not perfect, it's the best version of MMD I've used so far. It also has improved interactions with the DirectDraw resources.

I still wonder what the "low pow" button does...

Trackdancer In reply to papetto-manipyureta [2013-07-18 03:40:28 +0000 UTC]
It reduces the amount of system resources that the program is allowed to use. 3D applications tend to be resource hogs, the low pow button restricts the amount of resources permitted to MMD and this reduces the drain on your PC, and if it's a laptop, this is especially useful and you will note the result easily as the machine doesn't heat up as quickly. Overheated laptop also tend to shut themselves down as a safety precaution, so this also helps to prevent that from happening to an extent.
Make sense?

And mine doesn't overheat like it used to - best thing since sliced bread. Might want to leave it off (use full power) when rendering to video or pictures though as I think what it does partially is to skip frames or abbreviate other calculations.

Ah yeah that's a good tip too! thank you!
I wonder if now rendering my Kiss Me video will work e.e...
It always stops at 7500 frames in my older version of MMD D:

MMD will stop rendering if it runs out of physical memory - fixes:
- make more room on the disk that the program is stored
- increase your virtual memory allocation
- dis-fragment your drive
- get more physical memory (if possible)
- use a more efficient video codec (try the Xvid codec - it's free and very, very good - plus you can configure it manually to suit your situation)
- cut your video into two and recombine it using an external video editor - the one that comes with Windows works fine for this. If you do this don't render with the .wav file, add this back when you recompile. This will save some memory too.

Ah yeah, the last would seem the best, I've done all the rest multiple times and mmd just keeps doin the same thing over and over again >_<
