********

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE 64 BIT of this page VERY CAREFULLY.
THE SYSTEM FILES OF YOUR SYSWOW64 FOLDER MUST BE REPLACED FROM THE 32 BIT FILES THAT I HAVE INCLUDED TO MY Macos X for Windows 7 - 32bit [link] FROM FOLDER '32 bit Dll files'
So 64bit users must download also my 32bit version of the theme.
THE REST SYSTEM FILES, in C:\Windows\System32 and in C:\Windows MUST REPLACED FROM THE FILES INCLUDED TO THIS PACK FROM FOLDER '64 bit Dll files'.

Mac OS X style system behaviour with not 3rd party program .

Macos X is a Mac OS X port for WIndows 7, made by idas = ZEUS osX. (Pavlos Pitselas).

Macos X for windows 7 is MADE IN GREECE (= Hellas).

Macos (1)word meaning : 'mecos'= length in ancient Athenian also Ionian language and in Byzantine and in nowdays Greek, and 'macos' in doric and aeolian ancient greek dialects and in nowdays tsaconian= spartan dialect that still speaken in some villages in southeastern Pelloponese[south Greece], where is my hometown, and also in Ancient Greek Macedonian and Aeolian Thessalian dialects.
On screenshot , down window there exist some of a portrait of Alexander the Great(=Alexandros) who unified all Hellenes=Greeks ie (Peloponisians , Thessalians , Macedonians, Athenians, Cretans etc ].

IN ancient and in nowdays Hellenic (=Greek) [Active CODE] language, every letter, and every word is a specific number, and it has a specific meaning.
ZEUS ( or DEUS or DIAS) is Master of immortal Gods in Hellenic (=Greek) Active CODE [arithmetic machine logic] language, and APPLE is the given gift from ZEUS .

So the name of the THEME choosen from Hellenic = GREEK language and civilization.

-------------------------------

Macos X IS not just a theme. With new code added to Windows system files , Windows becomes behaving like Mac OS X .

When forinstance we select a folder as 'icon', we have separate mouse over image for the folder and other image for the text.

When we select a folder as 'details' we can have stripes, and mouse over images like mac os X , blue hover and white text .

Main categories of visual styles: Transparent, Brushed, Gray.

Names and styles of Themes:
Dion,- 4 versions ---> transparent
Alexander, - 4 --> brushed
Leopard - 4 --> gray

in each style that has number I (FOR EXAMPLE : 24 Dion I ) --> no visible folderband, and no addressbar image, and a designed button at the corner of titlebar.

in each style that has number II (FOR EXAMPLE : 24 Dion II ) --> no visible folderband, BUT with addressbar image,and NO designed button at the corner of titlebar.

in each style that has number III (FOR EXAMPLE : 24 Dion III) --> Visible folderband, and with addressbar image in eand NO designed button at the corner of titlebar.

each style that has number IIII (FOR EXAMPLE : 24 Dion IIII ) --> no visible folderband, and no addressbar image, BUT IT HAS some pseudo buttons in the place of addressbar so to look like MAC Finder, though its only design, without fuctionality as also the designed button at the corner of titlebar.

Also i use The Ave's application [still beta] , CloseButtonChanger which makes the close,max,min buttons more close.

My work is based on the spirit of os X, and not a copy of it.

Many images are designed in a similar but not same way with original os X.

I use font bold style in many places that original os X use regular font style.

I made this project to work only to 96 dpi font size.

For this project i have spent thousands of hours, and perchaps it is first time in the history of Windows, that without any 3rd party programm or explorer replacement, we have a so much close to mac os X style approaching.

The theme will have some limitations in use, as i have not enough time to complete in the way i want, as i am too tired.
--------

MAIN LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF USING

1. Be sure that in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display the Smaller - 100% categorie is checked . if there is not, check Smaller - 100% and restart.
Also do not change font size (leave it 96 dpi font size).

2. do not change border padings.

3. in the new themes there is no any taskbar problem.

4. for close distance between close,min,max buttons Ave's application [still beta] , CloseButtonChanger needed.

5. for adding shadows effect around your Windows, needed the freeware controlable application YzShadow.

follow the instructions text of this deviant page, I N S T R U C T I O N S (64 BIT Version) as is.

before doing anything do this as i have written : go to Control pane [view by category] -->so Go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window Never Notify. restart. do all your changes in code that u want.

then go to your system files and a. Obtain Permisions and Ownership of ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll that located in C:\Windows\System32 and and do also the same for explorer that located in C:\Windows\ . (use the "Obtaining Permissions and ownership.txt" for help on installing) , and also do the same to the same files to c:\windows\syswow64 , you need to edit the same files in both folders system32 and syswow64 folder as in x64 version there is doubles of all files.

[ example of taking ownership to a random system file

b. Backup you original ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll and explorer by renaming them to ExplorerFrame.old, imageres.old, shell32.old and explorer.old

c. Copy ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll from this pack to C:\Windows\System32 and and explorer to C:\Windows .
[for the Alexandros and Dion Themes copy the ExplorerFrame.dll from the '1. buttons light blue HOVER ' folder, for the leopard copy the ExplorerFrame.dll from the '2. buttons gray HOVER' folder, of this pack,

d. Restart to see the changes.

4. Go to Desktop Personalize & apply the theme you preffer.

# if to your desktop the clock image to the far right part of taskbar is distorted please download these themes from [link] which solved this.
If your clock image to your taskbar looks ok do not download the additional themes. #

It is better to use my latest updated visual styles/themes which have bigger than original 22 pixels height osx small icons taskbar but which work perfect to windows 7 code, no problem with the taskbar when log in, so download my APPOLON-THEMES : [link]

Whats the start orb?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZEUSosX In reply to Red-Ice-Claw [2010-08-07 08:34:52 +0000 UTC]

[explorer.exe --> start button
explorerframe.dll -> back and forward buttons + others
shell32.dll --> icons+control panel pictures + others
imageres.dll --> icons+log in screen + others]

so in 64 there 2 files u must replace:
the 64 bit explorer.exe (explorer) from this download to C:\Windows following the instructions[as the other 64 bit system files exist to C:\Windows\System32 but not 64 bit explorer], and the 32 bit explorer.exe (explorer)from the Macos X for Windows 7 - 32bit [link] download to c:\windows\syswow64
restart. thats it, but follow the instructions.

ok, what i understood is the 2 lines up from detILS PANE.

FIRST if you dont know how to open the folderband, making left clik and then right continious pressed as i described in my text [link] but for more quiq solution do this, select my 24 Alexandros III from C:\Windows\Resources\Themes [i supose you are using my Appolon Themes [link] ] then go to THE FOLDERBAND select Organise, layout, menu bar, ok? then the menu bar will appear , [u can appear it also just pressing F10] , then right clik to your menu [that have appeared] then select with left clik lock the toolbars thats it.
-------

now something other: if you dont want the details pane, do again to THE FOLDERBAND select Organise, layout, and deselect details pane ok?

if you want the status bar at the bottom of your window, so to be as tiger style do this, go to THE FOLDERBAND select Organise, layout, menu bar , ok? then the menu bar will appear , [or just pressing F10] , then in menu categories select View, status bar. ok?

then select from your themes, C:\Windows\Resources\Themes your favourite theme, forexample 24 ALEXANDROS I [link] ./ thats it.

hey man awesome, worked great thank you so much! the only thing i see missing are the icons that are still the windows one? TIA

ZEUSosX In reply to KaizenDesign [2010-07-31 18:17:29 +0000 UTC]

you have not replace shell32.dll and imageres system files.
those have the icons.

did you replace [= rename the old ones and copy/paste the new of] all the system files?

navigation buttons [backward + forward buttons] exist to explorerframe.dll

[explorer.exe --> start button
explorerframe.dll -> back and forward buttons + others
shell32.dll --> icons+control panel pictures + others
imageres.dll --> icons+log in screen + others]

------------

remember that in 64 bit windows :
Those (ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll) located to located in C:\Windows\System32 or ( explorer ) to located in C:\Windows must replaced from files i give you to this pack.

Those system files located to c:\windows\syswow64 must replace from 32bit files that existed on my pack for the 32bit version so you must also download those files from my
Macos X for Windows 7 - 32bit [link] , copy them from folder '32 bit Dll files' to your c:\windows\syswow64 folder.

there are 8 file systems for 64bit , [infact 4 system files of 32 bit must paste to c:\windows\syswow64 folder, and 4 system files of 64 bit must paste , 3 of them to C:\Windows\System32 + 1 system ( explorer ) to C:\Windows, thats it]

first make a restore point and follow the instructions as is ,: go to Control pane [view by category] -->so Go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window Never Notify. restart. do all your changes in code that u want. ok?

so after you changed everything Please use my latest updated visual styles/themes APPOLON THEMES for windows 7 [link]

if the behaviour of your system dont like use the restore point so your pc will return back.
-
[with the new code system behaves great, but if u dont want use system restore]

1.Ohkay anyways ive been wanting to do a clean restart so i dont have any viruses on my computer but i just bought adobe creative suite 5 master collection and there are a few other things i want to keep like winrar which i payed for and vegas pro 9.0 fallout 3 and a few other programs and all my itunes music. this is a lot of stuff and i cant put adobe creative suite 5 on a disk or DVD because its over 9 GBs large how could i just keep all this stuff and get everything else off it?

2. do you know anything about this virus that i keep getting warned of?

3. for the taskbar thing well i see your trying to make it so i dont have the problem with it becoming bigger with the original one but i prefer the original one here because of its style so can you tell me why it doesnt work? and btw i did download the new themes and the taskbar is the same even after restart so its happening with them also. and none of the themes have backrounds except the one labeled "X" with the green leaves and all the other themes take the windows 7 background whats the problem?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZEUSosX In reply to xXxG0dzRAgexXx [2010-07-15 19:44:17 +0000 UTC]

1. usually the system asks you for a second , perchaps a 3rd dvd[i have not done] so you follow what system asks.
i recomend that solution for u just because asked me the safest method.

to all other people i say to make a restore point and follow very carefully the instructions, and before doing anything do this as i have written : go to Control pane [view by category] -->so Go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window Never Notify. restart. do all your changes in code that u want.
------
about your audio driver problem
before doing anything make a restore point, uninstall the audio driver after, restart, and via windows update install a generic audio driver for you system, restart and then, does that worked for you?
if not use the restore point for returning back.

what i do before i reformat my laptop is this:
i save all my works , pictures etc and programs installers and codes of each of them to a dvd.
after i reformat and install windows 7 , restart, installing all updates, but no programm, i change system files, install themes, restart, and when i finish all this work, only then i install the programs like photoshop, itunes etc
=========

2. i had no virus in my system , do this , if your antivirus said that exist a virus try to 'execute' it and tell me its name and the kind of it.
i use micosoft essentiaLS security, and there is no virus on my files, when i scan it. also with my web files ones.

==============
3. it is working, just read my instructions and tips, its everything written: read in Tips number 4

............
-4. The windows 7 system behaviour to 22 pixel (small icon) taskbar is unbelieveable not applicable!
That means that everytime you log in to your system, taskbar becomes bigger[than 22pixels], and you have manually do this:
right clik to taskbar, select Properties, Uncheck Use small icons, Resize your taskbar as possible small, then check Use small icons and that s it.
To my system[32 bit win 7 rtm] I do this, i set first small icons taskbar size on top of desktop, after i set before shut down, or log off etc the taskbar to the bottom , when i log in i set the taskbar to the top and works ok.
[ if you select instead of shutdown, 'sleep' or 'hybernate', the taskbar remains as is, no need to set it down]
............

no it does not happen with the new ones, if u right clik to taskbar of a an Appolon theme, properties , select use small icons, taskbar becomes small, when u restart also the taskbar remains small, to this present here no.

as backgrounds if you mean the wallpapers just do this:
personalize, desktop background, go where it is written picture location at the top, and left clik, select a categorie u want for example,Mac os X wallpapers and choose you favourite, then press save changes, and then save theme.
then go to C:/Users/yourusernamehere/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Themes and copy it if u like to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes so to find it more ease your saved theme.

ohkay i didnt replace the explorer in sysWOW64 and its working but thee taskbar is the same as the windows 7 taskbar but it has the Mac icons how can i make it the mac taskbar what did i do wrong? and also now i keep getting notifications that adobe shock wave player keeps coming unresponsive and for some reason i cant hear any sounds.

ZEUSosX In reply to xXxG0dzRAgexXx [2010-07-14 14:10:17 +0000 UTC]

about the sound:
the problem with the sound it appears to some of the pc , not all.
its a driver's problem that appear when we replace the system files.
changing system files we do not touch the driver , but this hAS TO DO how windows 7 reacts to some systems..
THis kind of problems become from the way that windows 7 see the system files and how system files cooperating with the registry.
Thats Windows.
-----
usually i recomend to people to change system file to a clean installation of winsows 7.

[ if u make a clean installation of the system normaly u will not have any problem.
clean installation is when we save first our data, and reinstall our windows 7 to our system . so we install windows , not installing any programm, installing updates, installing my theme and system files, after we install any program we like]
to my system i have no problem with any programm or device, though:
--------
a user who had a simmilar problem told me this:

'. . . I uninstalled the IDT Audio driver [<-- he uninstelled his audio driver ] that was installed on the machine and forced Windows into installing their generic audio driver, and now the audio works fine. . .'

so make a restore point, uninstall the audio driver, restart, then possible via microsoft update, install a generic audio driver and it is possible to work.

[ if none of this works try to use your older originall microsoft shell32.dll , but i think the driver solution will work]

Also with the 32 bit files do you also replace the explorer located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 with the explorer your given in the 32 bit folder? or do you leave that alone because it doesnt say.

i want to make sure i do this right so i dont screw up my laptop so the first part in your instructions you say " First do a restore poin to your system" how do i do that? and do you mean "point"? i dont want to mess everything up so i want to know what im doing and if i dont like it can i go back to the original windows 7 layout instead of the mac layout?

ZEUSosX In reply to xXxG0dzRAgexXx [2010-07-13 08:40:13 +0000 UTC]

yes you can go back, but first for been sure you have to do 2 important things :
1.
first is the Restore point.
go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System in the left up there some lines categories, select System protection, a small window opened, go down where it is written ''Create a restore point right now . . . '' and pess the button 'create'.
in the square appeared writte a name u like as the name of the restore point.
restore point help us to return our pc to the date that we made the restore point with the pc behaviour at that time.

there is even beter if u made a back up dvd of your pc.
how to do: go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Backup and Restore and select on top left Create a system image , then in the next window select to 1 or more dvd, so saving there your system and work so you can use those 1 or more dvd to return back , ok? i recomend this method.

Now before doing any changes to your pc do this:
go to Control pane [view by category] -->so Go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window Never Notify. restart. do all your changes in code that u want.
after you finish all the changes with dll and installing visual styles and everything work fine for your security reasons ,then again go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window to Default or to whatever u like, then restart. but this last is the last step of all.

use my latest updated visual styles/themes which have bigger than original 22 pixels height osx small icons taskbar but which work perfect to windows 7 code, no problem with the taskbar when log in, so download my APPOLON-THEMES : [link]

Do not delete original system files dll's of your system, we first rename the original dll [see in instructions text] and we copy the new ones.also we save the original to a safe folder as a second back up.

but for renaming the original dll we must take first Obtain Permisions and Ownership of them.use the "Obtaining Permissions and ownership.txt" for help on installing, it is icluded in the downloaded pack) to all system files and locations needed. in instructions text it described in which one. if we do not take ownership, we can not rename the original dll that "they are in use" so we can not copy paste the new ones.

[ example of taking ownership to a random system file
[ [link] ] internet explorer compatible]

-----------------
now ---
The method of uninstalling:
A.
Have you made restore point as i desribe to my INSTRUCTIONS ?

IF you made you can Safely return to your previous microsoft version with NO PROBLEM.

Better is the method making a back up dvd of your pc. tgis is the best, so you will have NO problem.
---------

B.
IF NOT MADE RESTORE POINT or DVD BACKUP, what exactly you have only to do is this:

1. before replacing files go to Control pane [view by category] -->so Go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window Never Notify.

2. go to your C:\Windows\System32 and rename my files that you have install it there from ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll to ExplorerFrame.bak, imageres.bak, shell32.bak and then rename those you have renamed on past, from ExplorerFrame.old, imageres.old, shell32.old to ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll

3. then go to C:\Windows and rename my file that you have install it there from Explorer.exe to Explorer.bak and then rename that you have renamed on past, from Explorer.old, to Explorer.exe

4. IN 64 bit you have also to do this: o to your c:\windows\syswow64 and rename my files that you have install it there from Explorer.exe, ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll to Explorer.bak,ExplorerFrame.bak, imageres.bak, shell32.bak and then rename those you have renamed on past, from ExplorerFrame.old, imageres.old, shell32.old to Explorer.exe, ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll

5. restart. now you system has the original microsoft files so we have returned before.

sometimes the windows system 'holds' temporarily some folder icons the 'look' that they have before, so for eliminate this [which a windows characteristic 'function' and not of my files] do this :
personalize, display, shange from smaller to medium[125%] , log of [or restart] log in, then again personalize, display, shange from medium to small[100%].
If not at once after sometime, the folders of your active system files should work.
but perchaps there better methods.

SO this is the method for uninstalling it.
thats the exaxt oposite for installing it.
--------------
BUT THE MOST FAST AND SAFE proccess FOR RETURNING BACK is to use RESTORE POINT or better DVD BACKUP METHOD.
----

IF something not understood writte her.
if i will have free time i will answer.
Becarefull, read and folllow the instructions very carefully.

i started putting in the replacement .dll files and the new explorer file and my virus detecting software has detected a pdm.invader (loader) in the explorer.exe ummmmm are you sure you didnt put a virus in there or is it because of something you did with the new .exe? im still installing this but i dont want anything horrible to happen. And another question is why am i putting the 64 bit dll files in C:\Windows\System32 and the 32 bit files in C:\Windows\SysWOW64? shouldnt it be the other way around?

because of some specific Microsoft updates, what usually happen is this : make the uxcore utility [the small application that enables your system using 3rd party visual styles/themes , like mines] stop working.
now becarefull you have not reinstall.

if you do its possible the problem remained.

So, go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features amd UNINSTALL first the uxcore application, then restart.
now INSTALL uxcore application, then restart.
i hope then you have no problem.
=====
after everything is ok:
also download my latest updated visual styles/themes which have bigger than original 22 pixels height osx small icons taskbar but which work perfect to windows 7 code, no problem with the taskbar when log in, so download my APPOLON-THEMES : [link] [though in some days i will reupload them with some new minor changes, in the meanwhile download them as is now if u want]

I performed a system restore to the point before I installed your theme pack. Since then, I've just installed standalone stack2 and I use that with a snow leopard background and the built-in windows 7 frost color theme. Combined with some custom icons pinned to my taskbar it looks pretty good.

Thanks for the ideas mate, keep up the good work.

see in my tips Tips
-------

.........................................

[ if you select instead of shutdown, 'sleep' or 'hybernate', the taskbar remains as is, no need to set it down]

.............................

but the best you have to do is following this i writte :
OR

use my latest updated visual styles/themes which have bigger than original 22 pixels height osx small icons taskbar but which work perfect to windows 7 code, no problem with the taskbar when log in, so download my APPOLON-THEMES : [link]

your taskbar will have no more problems.

yes Luisa this is the 64 bit version. 64 bit users must download this, but also the 32 bit ones as in the 64 bit version exist folders which use also 32 bit system files. all are written in instructions.

but if that is difficult for you, dont do it.
only if you have someone specialized to pc, a brother or a friend etc you can have a try, following very very carefully the instructions.
