*Teach you Blender
*Make finished, ready to dance, fully boned models
If you can't do any of this yourself, I strongly suggest just waiting until someone else does it for you. There are several experienced modelers and converters uploading them every day.

When i import a .dae file ,
he says this : Please install full python
But i already installed the python ( 2.6 )
and i checked the console for something who could solve the problem but nothing helps me
What can i do ?

Okay, first off the .dae file isn't going to import anything you want anyway. That's just info for a model like how to map it's textures and such usually. You'll want the .obj, .3ds or .x file that should have come with it.
As for the python error, check and make sure you have the correct version of python for your Blender: [link]
If you're sure the one you have is correct, try reinstalling it.

*Techinically* Blender supports them, but I've never had them work on their own.
It's like sending someone a save data but not the game... Blender can't really do anything with it.

I have another question , i think i have already seen this in the comment ,but why when we import a model , sometimes the import fails ?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JerisEnigma In reply to Aiko-harumi [2012-03-04 05:46:47 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, either try restarting/installing/importing again or the file itself may just be broken or incomplete.
For example, if you have a .dae file but no .obj or .x to go with it. Dae files are just information on how a model is set up NOT the model, so they won't work.
It might help to re-download the file you're trying to import as well, but beyond that I don't know. :/

What version of Blender are you using?
Anything newer than 2.49 I can't help with... It wouldn't install in them.
Anything older than 2.3 I recommend upgrading from.

Not addons, PLUGINS my friend~
Copy-paste them into any and every plugins folder you find.
Mine looks like:
My Documents -> blender 2.49b -> plugins -> (blender2pmd stuff pasted here)

Buttttttttt.......( a huge butt ) I was asing metaseq to import the obj and UVmap in there, I converted it to mmd model stuff, corrected texture names in pmde, then in MMD, the face textures are looking weird. Do you think you know how I can fix this?

I've only used Metasequoia ONCE so I can't help there at all, but with more details I might be able to help with the textures... Depending on the problem. >.>

Well I got everything to work all fine and dandy now :3 Thank you for the tutorial...the only thing is I can't import any of the obj models. It Says Python Script Error: Check Console.
I have no clue what to do and I've tried looking up several things and doing them, yet nothing works... If you have no clue it's alright :3

That's good to hear at least!
So many random things need tweaking with this; it seems like everyone has a different problem... until so many posts add up that I finally have solutions for *some* of them.
No, I'm not sure how to fix the obj files. That's the only type that works reliably for *me* ironically. Just try converting to something else first if you can, tho if you can't import it to begin with I can't help you. T__T
Have fun with whatever conversions you can tho! Best of luck to ya~

...Could you tell me how you did that, maybe?
I've been scared to death to go near the script, but that would probably fix my damn 'echo not defined' error. It sucks having to work around it, but a fix would be fabulous~

I have no clue how to fix that one o.o; Have you tried going to the blender forums and reporting it? Or just going to google and typing it in? I mean sure it may not be the 'same' script but they usually give good ways to fix it XD
The only reason I know how to mess with it is because my dad writes it for a living, so I know some of the more advanced stuff.

JerisEnigma In reply to IXI-ChibiCharms-IXI [2012-01-31 03:57:04 +0000 UTC]
Nah, I'm far too lazy to do any of that.
It's much more convenient for me to just live with and deal with the buggy version. If I touch the script myself tho, I know the basics, but am super talented at rendering things useless with the smallest changes! XP
Besides, it's some custom japanese code. I don't know the origins and wouldn't know how to answer any of their questions regarding it if I went looking for technical support.
AH WELL.

why does everytime i export a 3ds model to pmd it always say "python script error: check console ?"
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JerisEnigma In reply to ProsecutorGodot [2012-01-18 04:32:49 +0000 UTC]
Because Blender is being a finiky lil bitch again~
It pulls that sort of crap with me all the time.
All I can suggest is playing around with different import/exports until it works like say...
import 3DS -> export to then import OBJ -> export as PMD
import 3DS -> export to then import .x -> export as PMD
import 3DS -> export to then import OBJ -> export as .x and save as PMD in PMDe
...etc etc etc.
I can only get mine to save directly to PMD about 50% of the time.
It can also help sometimes to deselect and reselect everything in Blender, go to textured view and THEN try to export it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JerisEnigma In reply to Tonypilot [2012-01-10 04:10:07 +0000 UTC]
As I've never bumped into an mld before, I did some research...
Though this tutorial can be used to convert ANYTHING Blender is capable of importing, .mld looks to be an audio filetype used for ringtones and such.
Since that isn't model data, it can't be converted to it. At all. Sorry about that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JerisEnigma In reply to Ricochet-Rennae [2012-01-01 11:14:13 +0000 UTC]
Make sure any modifiers have been applied before you export the model. Too many polys (from adding too many smoothers usually) or having only half a model because a mirror modifier hasn't been applied will make it reject it.
It's always best to export as a pmd rather than .x to avoid all of that anyway... It's a little trickier, but if it's really causing problems, try exporting as a 3ds file first, then importing and exporting THAT to an x/pmd file. If it successfully exports to pmd, I've never had pmd editor reject it.
Let me exactly what you imported, any modifiers on it, anything you can give me if it's still not working for you~

Okay, can you be a little more specific?
Make sure you're *Exporting* not Extracting, first off... Just in case it's something that easy heh.
Tell me exactly what error messages you get, what you did to get them (what did you click, etc), does it work when you export to a .x instead of pmd? Aaanything you can give me will help a TON.
I'll do my best to help you, but just so you know, I'm not online everyday. I tend to check my messages every other day, so please be patient if I don't answer immediately...

JerisEnigma In reply to KH-unlock [2011-12-28 08:14:11 +0000 UTC]
Oh wow, xmas came and went and I didn't even notice.. o__o
ANYWAY, you're sure it's installed correctly? Did you get the plugins (link in desc if no) for it, too? I've detailed how to install it a trillion times in the comments here, just scroll until you see a massive wall of text. It's reposted many many times already or I'd go find it and paste it again. You MAY have to set your locale to Japanese, either on your computer or in Blender's options or both, tho people seem to have it work or not *regardless* of those.
If it shows up but doesn't work, try selecting and deselecting the model in Blender. Sometimes that will fix it, or for higher poly models I occasionally have to right click and export each piece separately.
Also, if it's still being finiky, exporting it from an OBJ to 3DS, then importing the 3DS and exporting to PMD will work like 95% of the time. No guarentees, but that usually works for me.

Hurg... Uuuh, what version of Blender are you using?
It doesn't seem to work with the newest version (5 or 6 or something?), at least not for me. Once I had everything in the right folders, it worked fine with v.49b and with the version before that I believe. If you have a different version, try using 2.49 and see if it shows up.

Well then whole thing is a bit iffy for some reason, so I like to paste the plugins in like 3 different places JUST IN CASE and it always ends up working. They're not massive files, so having duplicates doesn't hurt or interfere with anything.
Mine looks like:
My Documents -> blender 2.49b -> plugins -> (blender2pmd stuff pasted here)
--------------------------------------- .blender -> plugins -> (blender2pmd stuff pasted here also)
----------------------------------------------------- scripts -> (blender2pmd stuff pasted here also)

No worries, I'm here to help!
Under File->Export it should say 'PMD file for MMD(.pmd)' exactly like that.
It's the same under Import, but I've never had it successfully import a pmd file even tho the option is there.

JerisEnigma In reply to KH-unlock [2012-01-09 00:02:42 +0000 UTC]
Well, the plugins you need are in the description here... Lke I've said, I've only gotten it to work in Blender 2.49 and the version or two right before that... As for the correct Pythons, Blender lists which version you need for each Blender version here: [link] but if your copy is working 100% fine ASIDE from this converter then you shouldn't need to check that.
Er, try restarting you computer?
Kind of a weak bit of advice, but you never know... >.>;
